COVER IT WITH X-BOND

A world-first microcement.

Since 1999, Seamless Overlays has been the exclusive supplier of X-Bond to applicators around Australia — now expanding the network to New Zealand. With a rich history and innovative formula, X-Bond remains the go-to choice for creating seamless, durable surfaces on floors, walls, and joinery. From residential builds to large-scale commercial projects, it’s been specified by thousands of architects, designers, builders and homeowners.

What is Microcement?

Microcement, also known as micro-concrete or micro-topping, is a blend of fine-grain cementitious materials and adhesive polymers that forms a thin yet highly durable coating. Hand-applied over existing surfaces, it offers a seamless way to transform materials such as concrete, tiles, and more — without the need for demolition. Versatile and hardwearing, microcement is suitable for both interior and exterior applications, including floors, walls, ceilings, joinery, furniture, wet areas, facades, and beyond.

There are many different microcement products; when we started supplying it in 1999, X-Bond was the first microcement on the market. Its characteristics include an unmatched 25+ year history, superior strength, adhesion, and flexibility across a wide range of applications.

Become An X-Bond Applicator

We’re proud to be expanding our installer network in New Zealand. Interested applicators are invited to complete our one-day, hands-on product training at our Melbourne facility.

Designed for renderers, other surfacers, and tradespeople who want to expand into a new microcement product, the training takes you through the X-Bond system from preparation through to application and finishing. You’ll work with the product yourself, learn the correct techniques and get practical guidance directly from our team.

We know it’s a bit further to travel from New Zealand, but the support doesn’t stop when the training day ends. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll head home with the practical knowledge to begin offering X-Bond to your own clients, along with access to our B2B portal, ongoing technical support and product supply.

As you build experience with the system, our team is there to support you with product and project questions, helping you confidently add X-Bond Microcement to your existing service offering and grow your business in New Zealand.

We also offer the option to purchase materials directly from our Trade Access portal — recommended for experienced renderers only.

Why choose Microcement?

Since X-Bond was developed over 30 years ago, we’ve witnessed an incredible rise in the popularity of microcement. So, what’s driving this growth? Simply put, it delivers the perfect balance of modern design appeal and practical performance. Microcement offers an innovative alternative to traditional materials like concrete and tiles, transforming spaces with its seamless finish and versatility.

Today, homeowners, architects, and designers alike choose microcement for its ability to create cohesive, contemporary surfaces across both residential and commercial environments.

Here are just a few reasons to consider microcement for your next project:

  • You want to renovate without demolition — microcement can be applied directly over existing floors, walls, or joinery.

  • You’re after a lightweight, adaptable alternative to concrete, and a more versatile & durable option than plaster.

  • You’re tired of cleaning grout lines between tiles.

  • You love the clean, minimalist aesthetic of a seamless surface.

  • You want one consistent material that works across all areas — indoors and out — from kitchen floors to bathroom walls and even outdoor spaces.

Where can you apply X-Bond?

Unlike other microcement ranges that have multiple systems for different applications, X-Bond Microcement’s advanced formula is engineered for adaptability. Typical applications include:

INTERNAL

  • Joinery

  • Ceilings

  • Showers
